One more day in the States

Today I finished my first day of training here in Denver. We learned about what to expect on the ice, and some information about the rumors amongst the “locals.” One rumor that is true, this year there will be no bowling in McMurdo due to the bowling alley being condemned. The manually set alleys will be truly missed.



Tomorrow is the final round of trainings where we will discuss safety and other very important facets of preparedness before heading off to the air port on our way to Christchurch New Zealand. I will leave on Monday the 24th and land Wednesday the 26th. This year I decided to cancel Tuesday the 25th due to crossing the International Date Line.
